JOB TITLE: Technology Project Manager
ROLE PURPOSE To plan and manage the implementation of technology projects across the business and to facilitate the integration and coordination of technology solutions into business processes

1. ROLE DELIVERABLES

Key Performance Areas Activities
Project Scoping and Planning
  • To evaluation project requirements by engaging with business, understand business needs and develop a draft project scope for approval as required
  • To develop technical project scope and budget by reviewing and evaluation possible solutions against the scope, identifying preferred solutions and presenting options for review and decision as required
Procurement 
  • To procure service providers by requesting proposals, evaluating solutions presented, providing technical input and presenting for approval as required
  • To appoint service providers by engaging with selected partners, developing and agreeing scope of work and budget, drafting technical specifications for the contract, reviewing draft contract and securing approvals as required
Project Implementation Management
  • To develop project plans by identifying key project activities and milestones, developing timing and resource requirements and submitting for approval as required
  • To manage project implementation by engaging service providers, monitoring work progress in line with the project plan and budget, identifying risks and implementing corrective action as required
  • To manage project scope by reviewing implementation, evaluation delivery in line with the agreed scope, managing any scope adjustments and securing approval where relevant, identifying any risks and implementing corrective action as required 
  • To hand projects over by engaging with key business partners and IT, facilitating and organising training of users, handing over maintenance components and inputs, reviewing risks and anomalies and implementing corrective action as required
Communication and Coordination
  • To contribute to and integrate IT inputs into the business processes by participating in meetings, identifying areas and opportunities for coordination, developing integration solutions, prepare proposals and submit for approval as required 
  • To communicate IT developments by preparing presentations, providing information, answering queries and demonstrating systems as required

2. ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Experience

  • NQF 7 qualification in a technology field is required
  • 5 – 7 years experience in technology project implementation and management
